MYM Recruitment are delighted to be working with our client in Magherafelt who are seeking an Estimator / Project Co-Ordinator to join their Technical Department. The successful candidate will be involved in pricing precast concrete products, generally associated with civil engineering projects.

Key Duties/Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Reading and interpreting customer drawings, producing a breakdown of the materials required.
  • Pricing bespoke products & creating quotations.
  • Managing projects and maintaining project records.
  • Organising and prioritising projects based on customer requirements.
  • Producing manufacture drawings and any other relevant documentation for Production team.
  • Producing customer approval drawings and documents relating to precast concrete drainage products and accessories.
  • Carrying out surveys of buildings, products & mould and subsequently compiling associated drawings.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and colleagues.
  • Ensuring work output conforms to specifications and requirements.
  • Assisting with technical and drawing queries.
  • Keeping up to date technically and applying new job knowledge to the role.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Essential Criteria:

  • English & Maths equivalent to Grade C or above.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Good computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Excel.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage a number of tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work on own initiative but understand level of responsibility within the team.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of people including clients, contractors & consultants.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Be a highly motivated individual with initiative, self-confidence, with the drive and ability to work under their own direction or within a team of professionals.
  • Be keen to develop their individual capability and career development.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience of working in civil engineering or precast concrete manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Civil Engineering products (eg Drainage pipes/manhole/shafts/cover slabs).
  • Knowledge of British Standards & Eurocodes.
  • Willingness to continue personal development.
  • Hold a valid Driving licence.
