MYM Recruitment are delighted to be working with our new Ballymena client, established in 1919 they have prided themselves on maintaining character as a family business with a strong heritage and traditional values.  Due to continued success, they are looking for a Forklift Truck Operator to join their busy team.

Key Duties/Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Perform duties to the highest standard adhering to standard operating procedures in a safe and efficient manner to maximise production and achieve targets ie OEE target of 70%.
  • Liaise with lead technical operator when critical issues regarding product non-conformance, safety and/or production issues arise.
  • Contribute towards achieving and maintaining a positive team and working environment, working in a cooperative manner and providing support to work colleagues on your line as needed and adapting to change in a positive and professional manner.
  • Promote accident prevention on your line by adhering to all safety guidelines and standards, ensuring that the correct PPE is always being worn and encourage active participation in all required training.  Report any safety accidents/incidents to lead technical operator and identify, communicate and eliminate potential hazards.
  • Carry out quality checks in accordance with laid down procedures and inform lead technical operator / QSE Technicians promptly of any doubtful or unusual findings. If the integrity of the pack/bottle is suspect, the machinery should be shut down pending further investigation.
  • Actively investigate faults ensuring root cause is determined and follow up on actions to sustain improvements.
  • Using your operational knowledge of the FLT / Sage system, recommend potential operational improvements and make controlled adjustments to equipment to optimise the running efficiency to the lead technical operator.
  • Responsible for maintaining documentation associated with FLT / Sage operations and ensure that all monitoring systems required by the Company are completed accurately in accordance with laid down quality procedures.
  • Comply with all hygiene, environmental and health and safety instructions provided and safeguard your own health and safety and that of others on your line who may be affected by your actions. Including Forklift Trucks maintenance checks, and ensure any issues are dealt with accordingly.
  • Undertake tasks and projects from time to time as may be reasonably required of you by Management in connection with your duties.
  • Any other duties and tasks deemed to be within competence and within reason.

Essential Criteria:

  • FLT Drivers License
  • Previous use of sage systems or equivalent
  • Experience in an operational role within a manufacturing industry
  • Previous experience working towards regulatory and customer standards
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proactive and can-do approach

The shifts would be on a 3 week rotation:

  • Week 1 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nightshift 7pm – 7am
  • Week 2 Monday and Tuesday dayshift 7am – 7pm and Thursday and Friday nightshift 7pm – 7am
  • Week 3 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday dayshift 7am – 7pm and half day Saturday 7am -12pm
