MYM Recruitment are delighted to be working with our new client in Magherafelt who currently require a HGV Mechanic at their Knockloughrim site.

Key Duties/Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Conducting planned maintenance, repairs, and modifications to a wide range of HGV vehicles.
  • Attending machine breakdowns and carrying out repairs efficiently, to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostic fault-finding for both mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Ensuring adequate supply of essential parts and ordering of parts, when required.
  • Updating records and maintenance logs.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Company’s policies; including Health & Safety.
  • Observing and complying with all good working practices within the company.
  • Carrying out general HGV mechanic duties within the maintenance department.
  • Any other tasks requested by line manager.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with:

  • Basic hourly rate for first 40 hours.
  • Overtime paid at time and a half.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Training provided.
  • Permanent role.

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in HGV maintenance.
  • Knowledge of auto-electrics, engines, transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
  • A good understanding of IT.
  • The ability to work flexible hours as and when required.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team demonstrating a good work ethic.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • HGV Licence.
