MYM Recruitment are delighted to be working with our new Dungannon engineering client.  Due to demand, they are recruiting an experienced Production Supervisor who will be responsible for managing a production team and ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient and cost effective.

Key Duties/Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Overall management of a production team and the day to day production needs.
  • Assisting the Production Manager in scheduling workload and keeping the Production Manager informed of any issues.
  • Assist the other members of the Production team and co-ordinate with Production, Engineering and Quality Departments to establish and resolve production issues.
  • Diagnose problems in the production line and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyse operational issues.
  • Coaching and mentoring the team to develop skills as necessary.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards and regulations are being adhered to.
  • Plan workplaces to best utilise space available.
  • Completing quality checks before and after each job is completed before it is signed off.
  • Ensure that the requirement for re-work is kept to a minimum.
  • Meeting all production targets.
  • Attend Production Team meetings and update other members of the Production Team on capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate overall production processes.
  • Hold regular team meetings to update staff of any changes to the Production plan.
  • Monitor staff attendance and timekeeping
  • Conduct interviews for new hires into the team

Essential Criteria:

  • Successful management of a production team and advising stakeholders on key operational issues.
  • On-the-job experience with heavy machinery in production.
  • Good knowledge of BOMs and other various production related documentation
  • Strong leadership style with the ability to lead change.
  • Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written;
  • Well-developed analytical, innovative and problem-solving abilities;
  • Good organisational, planning and time management skills;
  • Strong computer skills and competency in MS Office applications.
